We are delighted to have Peter Fernando, Partner in Duncan Cotterill’s commercial and technology team speak at our next event.

Peter has extensive expertise in information technology, privacy, consumer, and intellectual property law. He supports both public and private sector clients in various aspects including technology procurement, software implementation, commercialising technology and other products. Peter's extensive legal expertise in technology offers guidance across the dynamic landscape of digital environments. His advisory role includes addressing risk-based incidents and providing insights into optimal practices for risk mitigation. 

With growing awareness and use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, new fraud risks are arising and emerging. In this session, Peter will share his insights from a legal perspective on:

• How AI tools can be used for good or bad, including impersonation of individuals;

• Real life case studies/examples of AI powered fraud; and

• Emerging fraud risks using new AI tools/technology.
