ACFE Christchurch October Event | For the Record: The Evolving Role of Expert Evidence in New Zealand Courts

About the Speaker

We are pleased to welcome Glenn Cooper and Graeme McGlinn to present on recent developments relevant to litigation, expert evidence, and forensic investigations.

Glenn Cooper is a Christchurch barrister sole who previously spent 11 years with Cavell Leitch. Glenn will provide an overview of recent updates to the New Zealand High Court Rules, outlining key changes and their practical implications for legal practitioners, investigators, expert witnesses, and others involved in litigation matters.

Graeme McGlinn is the President of the ACFE Christchurch Chapter and operates his own forensic accounting practice, McGlinn Consulting. Graeme will discuss the implications of these changes for expert reports, including why adherence to APES 215: Forensic Accounting Services is critical in producing independent, robust, and defensible expert evidence. He will also share practical insights into evolving court expectations and common reporting pitfalls.

Event Details

We are pleased to be able to offer this event as both online and in person to our ACFE members across New Zealand. A link for online attendance will be emailed to registrants who have opted to attend online a few days prior to the event.

This event will be held on 21 October, with networking and nibbles from 4.30pm and the presentation commencing at 5.00pm. For online attendees, the presentation is expected to run until approximately 5:45pm.

We intend this event to be interactive and encourage you to ask questions throughout the session. Time will also be allocated for Q&A at the conclusion of the presentation.
