Come along to hear about some of the Fraud risks and issues that organisations face when engaging with external suppliers and contractors for goods, equipment and services.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
For our guest speaker during Fraud Awareness week, we would like to welcome along Karen English, Director of International Procurement and Trade from MBIE to present on the some of the fraud risks and issues that organisations face during procurement of goods, equipment and services.
Karen has represented New Zealand in international forums and trade negotiations involving government procurement activities. She has led government procurement policy teams that have developed the Government Procurement Rules, led the introduction of broader outcomes for procurement activities, led NZ's accession to the World Trade Organisation Agreement on Government Procurement, been the Government Procurement negotiator on NZ's free trade agreements and has spoken on Government Procurement topics at the OECD and events organised in a number of mediums including the Asian and inter-American Development banks.
Karen is a lawyer by profession and has valuable insight into the procurement activities that she has offered to share with our Wellington ACFE members.
